full band looking for keyboards and vocals. we are very serious and dedicated. we practice in springfield mass. ready to play shows and tour. you must also.

we are a experimental, techmetal/hardcore/jazzy, melodic/ a bunch of shit. we like to mix and match styles and just make good music.

for vocalist we are looking for somone who can sing and scream. or at least do one of those really good. for screams you need a good low ,high and mid.
for singing....well just dont suck

as far as lyrics go. nothing negative or hateful. we are looking for smart, lyrics that make you think. positive and artistic.

for keyboards if you can sing that is a huge plus. if not its all good.

our influences include but are not limited to:
between the buried and me, shai hulud, vehemence, the number twelve looks like you, with honor, explosions in the sky, circa survive, in dire need, dream theater, the dillenger escape plan, the red chord, beneath the massacre, misery signals, cryptopsy, and soo much more. we are not looking to sound like these bands, but they are influences.

if you can sing, scream, play keyboards,or all of the above please call me.

Sleep Terror
hmm, well, you don't seem to have "Sleep Terror" listed as a community interest, but I'm sure most of you know the band. If not, definitely check them out. It's a tech metal/jazz fusion. Very cool stuff.

- < b >Name:< /b > Radha (just about everyone calls me "R," though, except my boyfriend who inexplicably likes to call me by my last name most of the time)

- < b >Age:< /b > 26

- < b >Location:< /b > CT

- < b >Hobbies/interests:< /b > reading, writing, swimming, cooking, eating (heh), listening to music, medicine, science, environmental protection/advocacy stuff

- < b >Some random likes:< /b > animals, extra sharp cheddar, the smell of gasoline, chocolate, the sound a cat makes when it's pissed off

- < b >Some random dislikes:< /b > slutty "metal chicks" (you know the kind I'm talking about), most metalcore, hardcore, angsty teenagers, camwhores, and BAD GRAMMAR!

- < b >What are your ten favorite bands?:< /b > Emperor, Immortal, Atheist, Alice in Chains, Sleep Terror, Death, Morbid Angel (w/ David Vincent), Dissection (before "Maha Kali"), Carcass, and Opeth

- < b >Do you play an instrument?:< /b > I used to play violin. I want to pick it up again, but I'm having a hell of a time tuning it as the pegs are very stuck and the bow desperately needs to be re-haired.

- < b >What concerts you have attended?:< /b >

haha..this is going to take a while. Morbid Angel/Suffocation/Satyricon, Dark Tranquillity/Napalm Death/Strapping Young Lad/Nile, Impaled/Lord Gore, Cryptopsy, Sentenced, Behemoth/Suffocation, Dimmu Borgir/ Nevermore/Children of Bodom/Hypocrisy, Nachtmystium/Sunn 0))), Meshuggah/The Haunted, Metal Fest last year, Slayer/In Flames, Metallica/Corrosion of Conformity, Therion, Kreator, Sounds of the Underground Tour (for Opeth and SYL), and, as of tomorrow, Finntroll and Sodom. I am sure I am missing some.

- < b >What technical/progressive metal means to you/has done to you?:< /b > Tech metal just blows my mind. I can't say I understand any of what is actually going on from a musical perspective as I really don't know my music theory (that's what you get when you learn music the Suzuki way).

- < b >What band have you been obsessed with as of late or have recently discovered and thus recommend to everyone here?:< /b > Well, it's not tech metal, but I really enjoyed Nachtmystium's performance a few weeks ago. I'm also getting into Burzum and I've been pretty obsessed with Blood Red Throne, as well. As for tech metal, I'm sure you all know a hell of a lot more about it than I do, so I don't think I can really suggest anything in that vein.

Seattle's NEVERMORE have been confirmed as the headliners of The Century Family's second annual Christmas BallS, set to take place Wednesday, December 7 at the Key Club in Hollywood, California. Support at the show will come from BEHEMOTH, WATCH THEM DIE and MANNTIS.

Following last year's successful event, The Century Family's evil elves have put their heads together to come up with even more fantastically diabolic devilry. Already busy assembling stockings filled with heavy metal trimmings, they are scouring the workshop for musical goodies for all attendees. Santa's selected outstanding surprises to raffle throughout the night, and one lucky winner will go home with a brand new Schecter guitar.

Tickets for the Christmas BallS are available at The Key Club box office, or at Ticketmaster.

The Century Family includes Century Media Records, Nuclear Blast America, and Liquor and Poker Music. Century Media, the flagship label of the Century Family, is an upstart independent hard rock/heavy metal label founded in 1988. Its American branch opened three years later. With nine offices around the globe, the label employs more than 150 people worldwide. Featuring a rich catalog of such influential acts as ICED EARTH and OPETH, the label's leading artists today include SHADOWS FALL, LACUNA COIL, GOD FORBID and ARCH ENEMY.

Necrophagist - Live in New York
This vid is at least a half hour long and is 196 mb. I'm posting it here first since this is a smaller community and i'm sure my server will get railed. I'll wait a few days before reposting in my death metal community so swoop on this before then.

My suggestion is to right click on the link and save it to your hard disc.

Necrophagist bootleg videos.
Seems like I'm not the only one around here enamoured with the sound of these guys. I have some bootleg videos that some of you may or may not have. Here's the list, let me know if you'd like me to post them on yousendit.com or some other free hosting/ftp that I don't know about.
Necrophagist - Extreme Unction (Maryland Death Fest).mpg (42mb, 5 minutes) - shot behind some people, you're looking over their heads
Necrophagist - Live in New York.avi (196mb, 30 minutes) - good quality, front row filming
NecrophagistFTCV5-9-2002.mpg (107mb, 11 minutes) - poor quality, blurry shot from control booth

Both of these filmed pre-Epitaph, sorry.

Update From Necrophagist...

Hey folks!

Long time no speak, there have been some minor issues over here. The band is back playing shows, so expect some serious Necrophagist in your area soon as shows are being booked all over Europe right now. Check the live section once in a while for details, as it's being updated on a regular basis. The management is working on some North American tours in 2006, so watch out for that as well...

Within the next few days the full-color, both-sided shirts/hoodies/girlies/longsleeves will be added to the shop. They've been out of print for a while. Furthermore, the payment options are being worked on to ensure fully electronic payment, including the use of credit cards.

Thanks and see you on tour.

Wow, how much more good news are we going to get? Or rather, am I going to be able to handle, haha.

Nevermore To Open For Opeth!

If my ticket seriously ends up saying "OPETH / NEVEMORE" on it, I'm going to fucking laminate it, throw it in a plaque, and create a shrine on an altar for it.

I can't believe this...
5 years ago, Opeth opened for Nevermore. Now, the tables are turned. Either way, this is the best news I've heard in months.
